Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technician

Primary Function:
The Electrical Engineering Technician will work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineering to provide direct, hands-on electronic/technical support to the manufacturing floor, ensuring uninterrupted production and rapid resolution of issues. Serve as a primary technical resource for troubleshooting and diagnosing electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards at the point of use. Support the developing, building, maintaining, and repairing of test equipment. Create and maintain test documentation. Train test and production personnel. Support the integration of new product designs entering production and evaluate product performance during initial builds.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required. AA/AS in Manufacturing Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Technology highly desired.
- Minimum of five (5) years prior experience in a manufacturing/testing/troubleshooting of Aircraft Instruments or Electronics.
- Experience with the development and support of software application tools. Additional knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking systems and software administration a plus.
Essential Functions:
- Possess extensive knowledge of electronics, including the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Capable of testing and troubleshooting complex electronic assemblies.
- Develop and build test equipment, test fixtures and cables.
- Develop test software for incircuit testers, cable testers, HiPot testers, etc.
- Repair and maintain test equipment as needed.
- Develop work instructions and documentation aimed at improving and clarifying the test processes in manufacturing.
- Develop and provide training to manufacturing/test personnel.
- Implement updates to process control documentation on the manufacturing floor.
- Work with Test Engineering and Design Engineering to test and analyze new products in development, and to provide feedback of results.
- Interfaces directly with all functional groups and management at all PDS sites.

- Must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Moderate physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of electronic test equipment, exerting up to 30-50 pounds of force lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
- Regular use of hands/fingers for handling, holding, grasping, turning, picking and pinching to hold product and also during use of various hand tools (screwdriver, pliers, crimpers, tweezers, other) and power tools (drill, dremel, jigsaw, etc).
- Regular use of vision to see objects at close range (20 inches or less) with occasional depth perception to objects where and as they actually are and adjustment of lens of eye to see object in sharp focus at varying close distances. Color vision occasionally required.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of speaking, hearing or via other effective means of communication.
- Employees will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
