Job Description:
Candidate will be responsible for the tactical and strategic execution of procuring electronic components, fabrications and machined parts to support production, ensuring continuity of supply per company purchasing guidelines. Buyer will also be responsible for meeting and balancing conflicting goals of inventory reduction, cost savings, and serviceability to manufacturing. Buyer will negotiate strategic purchases and maintain long term agreements with strategic partners.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sourcing and procuring complex fabrications, electronic components and machined parts to support production.
- Issue requests for quotes/proposals and select best source consistent with the goal of Lowest Cost of Ownership.
- Negotiate and manage long term pricing agreement on critical commodities.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers on their performance and actions to improve upon.
- Resolve supply issues such as delivery expedites, invoicing problems, or non-conforming material.
- Perform spend/supply base analysis and diagnostics to determine appropriate purchasing strategies.
- Seek out and qualify new sources of supply.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other job related tasks as needed, enabling other workers to achieve their job objectives.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Materials Manager.
Education:
- Associates degree with five (5) years experience in Supply Chain/Purchasing.
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing, Business, Engineering, Accounting or related Fields desired.
