Job Title: Senior Supply Chain Intelligence Analyst

Reporting to the Director of Global Procurement Operations, the Senior Supply Chain Intelligence Analyst will provide early, decision-relevant insight into external market forces that affect AMETEK’s supply continuity, cost structure, margin risk, and strategic flexibility. In this newly created role, you will focus on future supply stressors, structural cost drivers, external risks that span multiple business units and product categories to provide tactical and strategic recommendations to senior business leaders.
Primary focus areas include rare earth elements, critical materials and previous metals, semiconductors, electrical components as well as the stability and long-term viability of commodity suppliers. Knowledge of larger geopolitical, trade, and regulatory changes is also critical to success in this role.
This role can be based at any AMETEK location in the Eastern or Central US.
How you will make an impact:
- Core Analytical and Market Intelligence
- Identify, extract, integrate and analyze market intelligence from various sources including:
- Suppliers and distributors
- Industry research and financial disclosures
- Policy, regulatory and geopolitical developments
- Internal procurement, spending and supply data
- Filter market headlines into decision-relevant insights and recommendations
- Conduct trend analysis, scenario framing, and risk assessment in complex, multi-variable environments
- Identify, extract, integrate and analyze market intelligence from various sources including:
- Supply Chain and Category Knowledge
- Knowledge, from mine to manufacturing, of rare earth elements, critical materials and precious metals, semiconductors, and electronic components
- Analyze supplier concentration and consolidation trends, capacity allocation behavior and reserve strategies, vertical integration trends, as well as the financial health and capex signals of critical suppliers
- Maintain current knowledge of tariffs, export controls, sanctions, and trade disputes
- Analyze policy-driven shifts along with environmental and regulatory constraints impacting supply
What you will bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering or Chemistry is strongly preferred. Other degrees in STEM will also be considered.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a supply chain analyst or market/commodity analyst role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and data visualization tools.
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment.
