Job Description: 

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Network Operations, the Network Engineer provides technical engineering and support with respect to corporate LAN, WAN, and Wireless functionality. In this role, you will partner with corporate representatives and business members to scope, design, implement and troubleshoot network solutions. Additionally, you will collaborate with other corporate leaders to align network strategy, direction, and priorities to effectively support business requirements. The Network Engineer will establish and maintain industry leading service levels in the delivery of network services by fostering and driving a culture of quality, collaboration and innovation across the infrastructure team, the broader corporate organization and our vendor partners.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Network Engineering & Architecture

  • Design and implement LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and remote connectivity solutions.
  • Develop architecture standards, roadmaps, and best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging networking technologies.

Operations & Support

  • Provide Tier 3 network support and incident resolution.
  • Manage network performance, availability, and capacity planning.
  • Support root cause analysis for major incidents.

Security & Compliance

  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to maintain secure network architectures.
  • Support segmentation, NAC, firewall integration, and compliance requirements.

Lifecycle & Vendor Management

  • Manage hardware and software lifecycle planning.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and technology refresh programs.

Project Delivery

  • Participate in global infrastructure and business transformation projects.
  • Develop implementation plans and technical documentation.


REQUIREMENTS: 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or business field

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of enterprise networking experience.
  • Experience supporting global WAN environments.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
  • Experience in a regulated global environment, preferably in manufacturing, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.  The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

 


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Network vendor certifications (e.g., Cisco, HPE, or equivalent).
  • Cisco Catalyst/Nexus
  • HPE Aruba switching and wireless
  • BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
  • VLANs and Layer 2 technologies
  • QoS
  • NAC (ClearPass, Cisco ISE)
  • Network monitoring tools
  • Cloud networking (Azure/AWS)
  • Network automation tools (Python, Ansible)
  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Understanding of wireless survey technologies (Ekahau, Aruba, etc).

 

OTHER SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting across data networking technology.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience in the use of Service Now.
  • Continuous learning mindset aligned with data networking best practices and trends.
