Job Description: 

The Corporate Director, EHS, is responsible for driving environmental, health, and safety excellence across manufacturing operations by ensuring a safe workplace, regulatory compliance, and continuous risk reduction. This role leads the development and execution of EHS programs that support production goals while protecting employees, contractors, and the environment.

 

The Director provides leadership in incident prevention, investigation, and corrective action, ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations, and drives continuous improvement through training, audits, performance metrics, and employee adoption.

 

Safety:

  • Lead department on providing direct support to sites including but not limited to investigating significant incidents, tracking KPI’s, utilize trend analytics to anticipate risks, drive mitigation and injury prevention efforts, and prioritize EH&S program implementation and performance improvement milestones to achieve company goals.
  • Liaise with Corporate Risk Management and insurance carriers with property and workers compensation loss control prevention programs and support sites in the event of loss.  
  • Support Corporate Risk Management with global Corporate Travel Security Duty-of-Care program and provide consult and support to management and business travelers when necessary.

Environmental:

  • Oversee global remediation portfolio to ensure compliance with objectives, strategies, and orders.  Ensure reserves meet US GAAP compliance.
  • Lead EHS (and Real Estate) due diligence on M&A and divestiture projects. Manage post-acquisition integration activities into AME’s culture and support synergy plans where necessary.  
  • Active involvement in company’s sustainability initiatives and strategies including conformance with directives, standards, and external reporting. 
  • Responsible for EH&S and sustainability data reporting accuracy, and ongoing verification for the company.  

Compliance:

  • Manage global EHS compliance assurance program including domestic and international audits and internal self-audits to assure conformity with international, federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and global EHS policies.
  • Coordinate and integrate enterprise-wide compliance programs across diverse geographies and workplace environments.
  • Directly support the resolution of EH&S enforcement matters by working with EH&S, legal counsel, and operations site teams to negotiate and resolve government agency notices of violation, claims, and penalties.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional partners to integrate environmental, health, and safety priorities into site development and operations that align with company’s strategic plans.
  • Provide business consultation support for product stewardship related regulations and directives e.g., TSCA, REACH, RoHS.
  • Monitors and reports on relevant changes in applicable domestic and international safety and environmental regulations/requirements related to operations.

Real Estate:

  • Manage global property portfolio of over 290 locations including but not limited to strategic planning, lease renewals, terminations, consolidations, divestitures, and procurement.
  • Support capital projects affecting property and process changes to ensure EHS and facility related requirements are properly managed.

 

Requirements for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (Master’s degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred).
  • 10+ years leading global environmental, health, and safety programs across multi-site manufacturing organizations

Salary Maximum:  $200,000 +
