Job Description: 

Amptek is a world leader in the design, development, manufacture, and sale of radiation detection components used in X-ray and gamma-ray detection. These are used primarily in X-ray spectroscopy, for analytical chemistry in laboratory and portable applications, and in nuclear and space research.

 

Amptek is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to work with Design and Development Engineers, Scientists, and Technicians to support new product development initiatives and their transition to a manufacturable status. The Manufacturing Engineer will work directly with engineering, logistics and production from early stages to incorporate manufacturing readiness into technology projects, and later support manufacturing and production control in the continuous improvement to existing products. The Manufacturing Engineer will also be responsible for the troubleshooting of customers and in-line failures as well as the support of production operators.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tests to ensure proper functioning of products and equipment.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical issues.
  • Repair or replace defective parts and components.
  • Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Support building engineering prototypes during new product development.
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve system performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

 

Required skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Certified soldering skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Rudimentary machining skills a plus.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $80,000
Salary Maximum:  $110,000
Incentive:  No
