Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in machine tools, Special Purpose Machines (SPM), sheet metal design, and strong proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM systems. The role involves end-to-end design, validation, and documentation of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design components for Machine Tools, SPMs, and automation equipment.
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings with GD&T and perform tolerance analysis
- Perform engineering calculations and material selection wherever required.
- Participate in ECN/ECO processes including preparing engineering change requests, evaluating impacts, and updating documentation.
- Ensure manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and cost optimization.
- Prepare BOMs and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, quality, and suppliers for design execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design (Machine Tools / SPM preferred).
- Should have experience in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, sheet metal) and PDM.
- Knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, and GD&T.
- Experience working with ECN/ECO workflow and engineering change controls.
- Good understanding of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of FEA/simulation.
- Understanding of hydraulics/pneumatics.
