Job Title: Technical Lead - Mechanical Design

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at BISON® AMETEK. The ideal candidate should possess good exposure in the development of electro-mechanical Products. Strong knowledge of Mechanical Design principles, materials & surface finish treatments etc. Review / create component designs (machined, sheet-metal, castings, Plastics) work on VAVE projects and process improvements. We are looking for a collaborative and proactive professional who can effectively partner with manufacturing teams in India while working closely with local engineering teams in India & U.S.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Proven ability to transform customer requirements into fully qualified solutions, starting from initial concept through successful customer validation.
- Lead the Design, Build, and Evaluation of Mechanical and Electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, products, and systems to meet performance, cost, and schedule objectives aligned with project and organizational goals.
- Propose the development of innovative concepts and perform / review sizing calculations for electro-mechanical components. Provide Technical direction from concept through production release for motor, pump, and blower assemblies involving rotary motion systems, circuit board assemblies, magnetics, heat sinks, electrical interconnects, and enclosure housings.
- Ensure high-quality 3D modeling, detailing, application of GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis. Review and approve design outputs to maintain compliance with engineering standards and best practices.
- Strong understanding of Value Analysis (VA) and Value Engineering (VE) methodologies to optimize product design and development processes for enhanced value and efficiency.
- Prepare and deliver impactful technical presentations to stakeholders. Facilitate and lead design reviews, ensuring cross-functional alignment and risk mitigation.
- Research, evaluate, and introduce emerging technologies, processes, and methods to support business growth and maintain a competitive edge.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of industry experience in Electro-Mechanical Product Design & Development.
- Strong expertise in manufacturing processes, including injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and precision machining techniques.
- Ability to perform & review Thermal / Flow and Structural Simulation results and provide actionable recommendations to achieve desired performance outcomes.
- Perform 3D modelling, detail design, development, modification of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems (Gearboxes, Motors, Pumps, Blowers & Fans) using SolidWorks or Equivalent CAD Tool.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills:
- Product Design experience in packaging electromechanical Systems, motors, fans, Automotive Pumps and Blowers by considering EMI/EMC, Structural and Thermal requirements
- Strong understanding of material properties, coatings, and thermal dissipation techniques for high-performance electro-mechanical systems
- Familiarity with global standards such as IP ratings, EMI/EMC compliance, UL, CE, RoHS, and relevant mechanical/electrical safety regulations
- Ability to manage timelines, budgets, and collaborate with global teams, including suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Exposure to the complete product lifecycle, from prototype development through series production
