Job Summary

This position is for a highly motivated individual to work as part of a research and development team to design and develop firmware for Power Instruments products.  The candidate should have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to work in a team effectively.  This position requires support for new products as well as legacy products

Required Skills
  • Programming embedded systems in C and C++
  • Familiarity with SoC and ARM based processors.
  • Experience in board bring up activities.
  • Designing and implementing firmware for peripherals such as ADCs, clocks, timers, FPGA interface, RAM, flash, communication interfaces, etc.
  • Experience with embedded development tools, debuggers, protocol analysers, etc
  • Ability to use basic test equipment like, Oscilloscope, DMM, Logic analyser etc.
  • Developing embedded software using, Bare metal and real-time operating systems
  • Experience working with both RTOS and Embedded Linux systems..
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Ability to debug HW by probing signals.
  • Develop and implement firmware for metering devices, focusing on accuracy and reliability.
  • Design and optimize digital filters, including IIR filters, to enhance signal processing capabilities.
  • Experience with creating TCP/IP network application programs.
  • IPC mechanisms, shared memory, queues in Linux.
  • Threads and process in Linux.
  • Exposure to build system such as, build root, Yocto etc…
  • Ability to read IEC specs, understand it and implement.
  • Ability to handle/understand hardware setup, wiring connections.

 

Desired Skills
  • Experience with simulation tools like MATLAB or equivalent for filter design and analysis.
  • Understanding memory leaks, memory allocation in embedded systems (program flash, RAM, non-volatile storage, file systems), Linker files for memory allocations.
  • Power systems domain.

 

Experience Level

8+ years of Industrial experience

Educational Qualification

BE or MTech in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
