Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic team at BISON® AMETEK. The ideal candidate should possess good exposure to firmware development for motor controls. We are looking for a collaborative and proactive professional who can effectively partner with hardware & firmware engineers in India & U.S.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Create firmware requirements documents and architecture documents for projects.
- Design and maintain product firmware for communication buses, motor drives and control interfaces in C, C++, and Python applications.
- Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility and requirements for firmware and software.
- Plan and execute testing programs to validate performance of drives to meet customer requirements including firmware and hardware.
- Communicate with other engineering personnel and test labs as to the validity of their work.
- Offer product, process, and firmware analysis, as well as manufacturing support for troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Collaborate closely with hardware and mechanical engineering teams to support development and testing activities. - Coach and mentor junior firmware engineer to achieve Business Unit software development objectives.
Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of Industry experience in Firmware Development
- Proven experience in taking 1–3 complete firmware projects from Concept to Market
- Knowledge on demonstrating end-to-end ownership of NPI and lifecycle management, including obsolescence activities
- Strong knowledge of firmware engineering best practices
- Expert level working knowledge on GIT
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of brushless motor controls firmware development
- Extensive knowledge of embedded software and systems
- Expert experience with microcontroller integrated development environments and tools
- Experience with test equipment, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters
- Understanding of brushless motor drive hardware, software, and algorithms
- Understanding of brushless motor hardware and circuitry
- Knowledge of STM32, ARM and Microchip dsPIC digital signal processors and IDE’s
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment
- Ability to manage timelines, budgets, and collaborate with global teams
