Business Unit: Instrumentation Systems

AMETEK Instrumentation Systems is a Business Unit in the growing AMETEK Instrumentation and Specialty Division.

Instrumentation System consists of two product lines: National Controls Corporation (NCC) and Vehicular Instrumentation Systems (VIS).

NCC specializes in electronic controls for commercial kitchens and industrial facilities.

VIS provides global solutions for rugged instrumentation, driver information displays, graphics displays and message centres for On and Off-road heavy vehicles. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

• Architects, designs and/or programs/develops a small module or a large component, feature, set of features, whole feature area or entire embedded software product. Some areas of expertise may include, but is not limited to, networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, databases, or applications.
• Works closely with peers and keeps engaging in a fast pace technical design and development team.
• Maintains code quality through best practices, code reviews and unit testing.
• Customer-oriented focus in the root cause analysis of issues during programs execution
• Seeks and provides feedback on design and development.
• Demonstrates the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment.
• Articulates the need for scalability and understand the importance of improving quality through testing.
• Provides guidance to other team members with either planning and execution and/or design architecture.

Basic Requirements:

1. 5 – 8 years of experience in embedded systems.
2. Degree in computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
3. Well-spoken with attitude to learn and experiment in new areas.
4. Ability to lead a team and drive projects for closure.
5. Communicate to customer and gather the requirements.

Technical Skills:

• Programming embedded systems in C and C++
• Experience in board bring up activities.
• BSP and Drivers development for Linux on NXP and TI Platforms.
• Proficient in Yocto build system.
• cross-compilation framework and tool (yocto, gcc, cmake, make etc.)
• Experience in u-boot/Kernel/systemd boot optimization.
• Board bring-up, Schematic review and working with h/w team on new board design.
• Debug and troubleshoot BSP and Driver level issues. Should be familiar with h/w debugging (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
• Experience with software / firmware verification and testing and generating high quality documentation of the design and test results.
• Implement secure boot and OTA firmware update mechanisms.
• Experience in Camera streaming like Gstreamer OR Video OR Audio decoder.
• Experience in Ethernet switch drivers OR Ethernet PHY OR display subsystem.
• Should take the ownership of complete Project on BSP/Driver side and provide the required technical expertise.
• Implement power management strategies for low-power embedded systems.
• Automotive ECUs.
• Experience with embedded GUI development, like QT or similar.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and security.
• Experience with creating TCP/IP network application programs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems.
• Experience in Automotive.
