Position Requirements:
The Senior Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Atlas Weathering instruments. They will lead the charge in developing software requirements, designing and architecting solutions, and implementing cutting-edge applications. Collaborating closely with product management, engineering, and quality teams, they will ensure timely delivery of all assigned tasks.
In addition to driving new product development, the Senior Software Engineer will be instrumental in refining and enhancing the software engineering processes at Atlas. They will work hand-in-hand with leadership and fellow engineers to set ambitious goals, meticulously plan projects, build realistic timelines, and adhere to budget constraints, all while supporting the broader organizational objectives.
This role also involves maintaining and updating the existing software designs and code base, ensuring that Atlas products remain at the forefront of innovation and reliability.
Key Responsiblities:
- Develop software requirements, design, and architect solutions.
- Implement software applications for Atlas Weathering instruments.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery of tasks.
- Contribute to improving the software engineering process at Atlas.
- Consult with leadership and other engineers to set goals, plan projects, build timelines, and stay within budget.
- Support organizational objectives.
- Work on new product development activities.
- Maintain and update existing software designs and code base.
Requirements for Consideration:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer sciences, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Excellent knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD).
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
- Proficiency in C++, C# .Net (Winforms) and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).
- Familiarity with URAT, MODBUS and TCP/IP protocols.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) platforms/tools, preferably Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of version control tools, such as GitHub or SVN.
- Experience with unit testing, peer testing, integration testing, and test-driven development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
