Job Description: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include the following:

  • Advanced skills in 3D CAD modeling, assemblies, and technical drawings, ideally within SolidWorks.
  • Proven experience designing precision mechanical systems, involving complex assemblies and tight tolerances.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, and additive manufacturing, with proven DFM experience.
  • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and thermal simulations within SolidWorks or other tools for validating and enhancing product design
  • Strong grasp of GD & T and Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis for high-precision critical Assemblies.
  • Thermal & Vibration Management: Understanding of how to mitigate thermal drift and mechanical vibrations in sensitive instruments.
  • Integration with Electronics: Experience designing mechanical interfaces for PCBs, sensors, and wiring harnesses.
  • CAD File Management Techniques (Solidworks PDM/other PLM tools also acceptable)
  • Knowledge and experience in relevant Industry standards with product qualification experience will be an advantage
  • Prepare and deliver impactful technical presentations to stakeholders. Facilitate and lead design reviews, ensuring cross-functional alignment and risk mitigation. 
  • Research, evaluate, and introduce emerging technologies, processes, and methods to support business growth and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 

 

Experience, Education & Tool skills:

  • Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with 8 - 12 years of experience
  • Strong background in use of CAD Softwares (SOLIDWORKS) – Modelling and Drafting.
  • Knowledge of FEA and ANSYS/Solidworks Simulation
  • Prior work on analytical instruments, especially mass spectrometers, is highly desirable.
  • Designing components for vacuum environments (e.g., ion optics housings, vacuum chambers).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work effectively with Global Team
