Job Description: 

The Build & DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) infrastructure that supports AMETEK’s Sensor, Test, and Calibration instruments engineering team. This role involves working with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable automation solutions that streamline development, configuration management, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support build, test, and deployment workflows for the engineering team.
  • Manage and scale AWS-based infrastructure hosting CI/CD tools, ensuring global reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Extend and evolve build systems to support new application and platform initiatives as they arise.
  • Administer, enhance, and support core automation tools including GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Vault etc.
  • Ensure platform security, reliability, and recoverability, including backups, disaster recovery planning, patching, upgrades, and infrastructure-as-code automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering and non-engineering teams in India, the USA, and Denmark to gather requirements, design solutions, implement automation, and validate results.
  • Promote best practices by identifying opportunities for process improvements, driving automation, and contributing to product enhancement ideas.
  • Support cross-functional engineering initiatives, occasionally contributing to light development tasks enabling automation and tooling.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of AWS, TeamCity, GitHub and Octopus Deploy.
  • Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Development experience with .NET Core and web technologies such as JavaScript and Node.js.
  • Familiarity with mobile application lifecycle management and CI practices. Experience publishing apps to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience with security tooling, code signing, and secrets management is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide leadership in a team-oriented environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Exposure to build automation frameworks, containerization, and infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Computer Engineering or in a similar technical discipline

 

Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, CI/CD automation, or related areas.
