CAMECA is a world leading supplier of microanalytical and metrology instrumentation for research and process control. Our instruments measure elemental and isotopic composition in materials down to atomic resolution and equip government and university labs as well as high-tech industrial companies around the world.
Under the supervision of the Training & Skills Development Manager, the Technical Writer is responsible for creating scientific content in collaboration with technical experts on our products and expertise for educational purposes.
They are also responsible for transforming this content into technical training on our analytical instruments and software applications.
Key Responsibilities
Propose and create educational, technical, and scientific content for internal clients:
- Gather existing technical materials (documentation, installation or maintenance guides, procedures, videos, etc.) from various departments and experts as part of training development projects.
- Design structured training module content in collaboration with experts, tailored to the needs of technical and scientific users, in line with the priorities set by Management.
- Incorporate videos, animations, and interactive quizzes to make learning more engaging.
- Develop technical and scientific training manuals to explain complex concepts in a simple and accessible manner.
- Integrate and Simplify Scientific Data in Training Programs.
Collaborate and Oversee Technical and Scientific Writing:
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to gather the information needed for documentation.
- Manage the writing schedule and validation deadlines.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
Maintain and Monitor Training Content:
- Keep training materials updated to reflect technical advancements in our products, applications, and services.
- Conduct educational research to enhance the delivery of technical knowledge.
- Contribute to improving the overall pedagogical approach.
Education & Experience
- PhD in Materials Science, Physics, or a related field Or an Engineering degree (Master’s level, BAC +5) with a broad and adaptable knowledge base (electronics, physics, analytical techniques, micromechanics, ultrahigh vacuum);
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in diverse technical writing.
Professional Knowledge Required & Abilities
- English level: C2
- Excellent writing and computer skills (Office Suite).
- Strong interest in new technologies and knowledge transfer
- Focused on internal client satisfaction.
- Experience in project-based work
- Diplomatic with excellent interpersonal skills
