Job Title:  SAP Basis Architect

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Architect to lead the design, management, and optimization of the enterprise SAP landscape (S/4HANA and ECC). This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including managing a team of Basis administrators and working closely with global IT, infrastructure, and business teams.

The ideal candidate will drive SAP architecture strategy, ensure system stability, and support ongoing SAP transformation initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Define SAP landscape architecture across ECC, S/4HANA, and cloud environments
• Lead SAP transformation initiatives (S/4HANA migration, RISE with SAP, cloud adoption)
• Design high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery strategies
• Establish standards, best practices, and governance for SAP Basis operations
• Oversee SAP system performance, monitoring, and optimization
• Ensure high system availability, stability, and performance across landscapes
• Lead upgrades, patching, kernel updates, and technical refresh activities
• Lead and manage a team of SAP Basis administrators (L1/L2/L3)
• Define roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for team members
• Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and skill development
• Plan capacity, workload distribution, and shift coverage if required
• Establish and enforce change management processes aligned with ITIL
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, and global IT
• Manage relationships with SAP, cloud vendors, and implementation partners
• Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and application teams for integrated delivery
• Define and maintain SAP Basis SOPs, runbooks, and architecture documents
• Establish operational KPIs, SLAs, and reporting dashboards
• Drive governance frameworks for SAP operations
• Provide architectural guidance for S/4HANA adoption and migration
• Evaluate new SAP technologies (BTP, automation, AI Ops)
• Lead innovation initiatives in SAP operations and automation
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs. 

Overall Skills & Experience:

• 10–15 years of SAP Basis experience with at least 3–5 years in an architect/lead role
• Strong experience in SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments
• Proven experience managing teams and working with global stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
