Job Description: 

SUMMARY:

This position would lead and maintain all quality processes and activities of this site. The quality engineer role is responsible for monitoring, testing, and inspecting products to make sure they meet specified standards. Also making sure that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials, and processes by following the AMETEK-Hermetic Seal Corporation (HSC) quality management system to ensure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications, satisfy contract requirements, and achieve superior quality and reliability levels.  

 

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors the quality of products and processes to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards and systems. This includes performing inspections, audits, and investigations on any quality-related issues also leads the team to drive CAPA for nonconformance, as well as actively participating in material review.
  • Analyze, interpret, and utilize metrics & indicators to determine opportunities for improvement. Assisting in process improvement and process-problem solutions on the factory floor.
  • Utilize a sense of urgency in acting to prevent or correct problems with products and post-delivery defects.
  • Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
  • Review Engineering and Manufacturing information on new and revised design documents/specifications, production, tool, and test equipment drawings, production/tool plans, operation/routing sheets, and storage & shipping methods to ensure that products meet customers' requirements.
  • Provide thorough and practical solutions to a wide range of technical problems utilizing electrical, mechanical, and optical engineering abilities.
  • Effectively interface and collaborate with other functions and the HSC Quality team in the quality system & requirements and to solve any applicable quality problems.
  • Provide guidance and Quality-related training to all employees.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Supports and works with HSC Quality & Engineering teams on Quality System and Engineering Activities.
  • Maintain Calibration System & Records.
  • Maintain Quality records, evaluate and report the quality and reliability data to internal functions and the HSC team as required.
  • Must be comfortable in a dynamic environment with multiple and changing priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in related engineering field (ME, IE, EE).
  • Must possess 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
  • Preferred experience in Manufacturing processes.
  • Strong experience working in an AS9100/ISO9000 quality management system organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings of complex nature.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills (written/oral)

 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports/trains workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Develop training documents and presentations.
  • Develop and/or revise Quality System procedures and Instructions as needed.
  • Ability to interface with customers, respond to their concerns, and expediently verify effective results.
  • Supports all areas of the plant concerning all aspects of product quality and quality system applications.
  • Minimal Travel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

           

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer preferred or equivalent.
  • Certified AS9100 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor is preferred.
  • Familiarity with problem-solving tools such as 8D, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and CAPA.
  • A candidate with Aerospace or Defense Manufacturing experience is desired.
  • Strong Experience working in an AS9100/ISO9000 quality management system organization.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and Electro-Optical experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with complex mechanical inspection and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional groups.
  • The ability to deal with multiple priorities and make decisions independently.
