Job Description: 

The STC National Sales Manager – India is responsible for leading and developing the commercial footprint in India, driving revenue growth through both direct sales and a strong distributor network, while also establishing and operating a new service facility to strengthen customer experience and long‑term loyalty.

 

This role combines strategic business development, hands‑on sales leadership, and the build‑up of service operations. The BD Manager will lead customer and distributor engagement across India, expand our market penetration, and ensure our products and services deliver exceptional value to Indian customers.

 

This position is critical to our long‑term growth ambitions in the region and requires a strong commercial leader capable of building a team, shaping GTM strategy, and representing STC externally with professionalism and integrity.

 

The BD Manager hire and build a sales and service team to support the market as part of the India expansion.

 

What you will do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy for India, covering both direct sales to key accounts and indirect sales through a high‑performing distributor network.
  • Build, mentor, and lead local sales & service team, ensuring clear goals, strong execution, and professional growth.
  • Establish and manage the India service facility (repair, calibration coordination, spare parts, field service planning), ensuring operational readiness, safety compliance, and high customer satisfaction.
  • Drive customer acquisition across target industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, energy, automotive, OEMs, EPCs, testing laboratories, and industrial manufacturing.
  • Strengthen and expand the India distributor network—evaluate capabilities, onboard new partners, set annual joint business plans, and drive performance through structured reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑lasting relationships with key customers, technical decision‑makers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with marketing, service, operations, and product teams to ensure India‑specific needs are addressed through campaigns, product positioning, price structures, and service offerings.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activities, and customer insights to identify new opportunities for growth and product adoption.
  • Lead major negotiations, pricing discussions, framework agreements, tenders, and commercial contracts within company policies.
  • Prepare regular business reviews, forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance metrics to track progress and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Represent the company at major industry exhibitions, seminars, conferences, and partner events to increase brand awareness and promote STC solutions.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety, ethics, and compliance across all customer and distributor interactions.

 

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation) or Business; an MBA is an advantage.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or commercial leadership within industrial instrumentation, calibration, measurement, test equipment, or related fields.
  • Strong experience managing both direct sales and distributors in India, with a proven track record of commercial success.
  • Experience establishing or operating a service/repair/calibration facility or similar technical service setup.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, motivate people, and create a high‑performance culture.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and build trust with senior stakeholders.
  • Solid commercial understanding: pipeline management, forecasting, pricing, tendering, margin management, and territory planning.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Hindi proficiency is beneficial.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce is preferred.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across India.
