Job Description: 

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic team at BISON® AMETEK.  This is a wide-ranging role, where you’ll primarily be focused on new designs and development, but will also be involved with manufacturing & production support, testing & evaluation, VAVE, and many other aspects. Primarily you will be focused on electronics development for BLDC motors powering pumps, blowers and gearing for a wide range of applications.  This is a great opportunity to bring your innovative ideas to life.  

 

What you will do:

  • Design and development of robust electric systems from requirements definition through integration and test.

  • Work with Software, Firmware and Mechanical engineers to develop cost effective solutions to customer application needs

  • Assist the firmware engineering team in preparing hardware for development and production, testing and validation of existing and new designs

  • Develop technical expertise in the company’s existing electrical BLDC motor designs and use that knowledge to improve existing products and new designs

  • Actively participate in product design reviews

  • Work with suppliers to find new engineering solutions to product development challenges

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical/Electronics Engineering

  • 5+ years of proven relevant work experience

  • Strong knowledge of PCB design, prototype, and manufacture

  • Knowledge of ECAD design tools such as Altium, Pads, DX-designer with the ability to lay do basic schematic capture and pcb layout as a plus.

  • Knowledge of Analog and digital circuit development

  • Knowledge of Power electronics, switch mode power supplies and motor control electronics

  • Some familiarity with microcontroller programming, and debugging is a plus

  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters, soldering irons, and other common electrical engineering tools

  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, and UARTS

  • A strong skillset around soldering, pcb troubleshooting and building of surface mount PCBA’s is highly desirable

 

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of embedded programming such as C, C++, C# or Python languages

  • Experience in industries related to BLDC motor drives, pumps and blowers.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in the business of Engineering a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in understanding the interaction of systems with mechanical, FW, and SW content

  • “Roll up your sleeves” attitude in applying Engineering experience, knowledge, and skills in contributing to team efforts

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to display consistent follow-through on tasks, assignments, projects, etc.

  • Must have demonstrated sound interpersonal skills including interactions with global team members

  • Familiarity with CE and/or UL marking requirements
