Job Description: 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Electronics Engineer is responsible for overseeing the development of electronic systems and managing the electronics engineering team in India. This role ensures technical excellence, project delivery, and effective collaboration across global teams.

 

Responsibilities:

The Electronics Lead Engineer is responsible for:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of electronics engineers, fostering skill development and teamwork
  • Overseeing the design, integration, and validation of advanced electronic systems (digital and analog)
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, production, after-sales, and project management) to ensure seamless project execution
  • Reviewing and approving technical documentation, specifications, and design justifications
  • Driving process improvements and promote best practices in electronics development
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and certifications (including local and international norms)
  • Managing project timelines, resource allocation, and quality of deliverables
  • Facilitating regular technical reviews and reporting of team activities
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Collaborating with global engineering leads to align on product strategy and technical direction
  • Interfacing with suppliers and vendors for sourcing and integration of electronic components
  • Promoting a culture of innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement

 

Requirements:

  • Education & experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electronics/Electrical Engineering from a recognized Indian university; M.E./M.Tech preferred
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in electronics design and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team management role
    • Proven track record in leading electronics engineering teams and delivering complex projects
    • Experience in high-speed analog and digital electronics, and managing contract manufacturers
    • Familiarity with Indian and international standards for electronics design and manufacturing
  • Professionnal knowledge & abilities:
    • Fluent in English
    • Strong technical expertise in electronics engineering
    • Leadership, team management, and mentoring skills
    • Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities
    • Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Hindi or other regional languages is a plus
    • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments
