Summary:
The Design Engineer will take the design from concept modeling to production ready prints and support the manufacturing of the product.
Works with U.S based engineers to accurately capture the design of new products. Complete pre-quote and final design packets including fixture & tooling designs, Component and assembly drawings along with bills of material & product routings. Convert red-line pdf(s) into workable shop drawing(s) and provide required document control support in the form of procedures or standard work instructions.
Interacting with various engineering employees and providing good communication to achieve quality products overall. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with customers (internal and external) to develop and document complex products for harsh environment applications that meet performance requirements at the expected product cost, project budget and timeline.
- Construct prototypes and confirm designs with the quality department and purchasing team. Work with Engineering colleagues on tooling and manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Work with manufacturing on initial build and ensure goals for reliability and compliance are achieved. Develop and maintain product details, drawings, and assembly instructions utilizing engineering and MRP software tools.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years.
- Solid modelling experience (Solid works Required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent technical, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work as a team player are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
- Knowledgeable in quality control methods and processes.
- Ability to work under pressure conditions in an environment of changing priorities.
- Available to work overtime if necessary. Solid modelling experience (Solid works required).
