Job Title: Deputy Manager - Tax and Statutory Compliance

The Deputy Manager, Tax and Statutory Compliance reports into AMETEK India Tax & Commercial leader. In this role, you will assist the Finance Director/ India Tax & Commercial leader to drive and manage the compliances of multiple India entities.
You will assist in formulating and implementing robust frameworks/processes to ensure proper indirect and direct taxation compliances, tax accounting/audits/ and reporting, FTP, Transfer Pricing, Customs, Companies Act, Labour and FEMA compliances.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensuring robust compliance process and ensure timely & accurate submission of various returns and remittances as per various local tax and other laws.
- Ensuring internal controls in all compliance and related accounting system and processes.
Job Responsibilities & Duties:
- Partner with Tax & Commercial leader to effectively plan and manage all Indirect and direct tax compliances.
- Plan and manage all companies act/FEMA/transfer pricing compliances.
- Review, implement and maintain a robust system of good controls over various compliances and related accounting and documentation management processes.
- Manages and supports Tax & Commercial leader in identifying opportunities and risks in taxation and other applicable compliance processes and mitigate any tax exposure/risk.
- Independently work with the Auditors, Tax Consultants for managing various tax litigation, tax audits and Tax assessments and refunds etc.
- Own and drive Legal Entity simplification projects.
- Own and drive board meetings and other secretarial compliances
- Familiarize with local legislature, accounting standards requirements and tax regime in India.
- Any other duties as assigned by the AMETEK India Finance Director/ Tax & Commercial leader from time to time
- Working knowledge of using AI tools for Tax Filing , reconciliations, and process automation.
Minimum Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelors / Master’s degree in Accountancy with professional qualification such as CA, ICWA is must.
Work Experience:
- 6+ Years of work experience in Tax and statutory compliances, including the last 3 years managing tax and statutory compliances independently in an established organization or MNC environment.
Key Success Factors:
- Strong knowledge of GST and other Indirect Tax regulations.
- Working knowledge of Direct tax, Companies Act & FEMA compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand and interact with people from various geographies.
- Ability to adopt new technology trends, such as AI tools.
