Job Title: Buyer/Planner

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to support procurement and planning activities. This role focuses on executing transactional purchasing tasks, managing supplier setups, and supporting production demand, inventory targets, and cost-saving initiatives. The Buyer/Planner works closely with sales, procurement, engineering, and operations teams to ensure material availability and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Order Management & Procurement
- Create and process purchase orders for materials and services within lead times to meet scheduled requirements.
- Initiate, enter, and review purchase order entry in Oracle ERP, ensuring timely communication to suppliers.
- Expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve delays.
- Maintain compliance with company procurement policies.
Supplier Setup & Coordination
- Assist with onboarding new suppliers and maintaining supplier master data.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order status and documentation requirements.
- Conduct basic negotiations with suppliers as needed.
Inventory & Planning Support
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment needs.
- Support planners with routine scheduling and material availability checks.
- Prepare reports on order status, supplier performance, and transactional metrics for the supply chain team.
- Ensure accuracy of material master data and planning parameters.
Special Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and supplier performance.
- Support monthly SIOP meetings to align supply and demand planning.
- Assist with data validation and migration for system updates or enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in procurement or planning roles.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, SAP or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with supplier onboarding and master data management.
- Familiarity with Kanban, consignment, and JIT processes.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings and manufacturing components.
- Experience in complex manufacturing environments.
- Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
