Job Title: Buyer/Planner

The detail-oriented Buyer/Planner will support basic procurement and planning activities for our global business. This role will focus on executing transactional purchasing tasks, managing supplier setups, and assisting with data migration for our upcoming MRP implementation. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to work effectively across global teams. The Buyer/Planner supports the efforts of the Senior Production Scheduler/Planner and the Materials Manager.
Key Responsibilitites:

Purchase Order Management & Procurement
-
Create and process purchase orders for materials and services within lead times to meet the scheduled requirements

Initiates, enters and reviews purchase order entry in MRP, along with the daily maintenance of filing orders and communicating the orders to the supplier effectively.

Expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve delays.

Procure materials in a timely manner to meet manufacturing requirements.

Maintain compliance with company procurement policies.

Supplier Setup & Coordination

Assist with onboarding new suppliers and maintaining supplier master data.

Communicate with suppliers regarding order status and documentation requirements.

Conduct basic negotiation with suppliers as needed

Inventory & Planning Support

Assist with monitoring inventory levels and replenishment needs.

Support planners with routine scheduling and material availability checks.

Prepare reports on order status, supplier performance, and transactional metrics to share with supply chain team

Ensure accuracy of material master data and planning parameters.

Other Specific Projects/Initiatives:

Repair & RMA Transactions: Manage China Repair RMA transactions, ensuring proper documentation and timely processing.

MRP Migration Support: Enter and validate basic data in the system to support MRP migration.

Education & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
-
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in procurement or planning roles.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) required.
Technical Experience & Desired Skills:

Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
-
Excellent verbal and written (English) communication skills for global coordination.

Experience with supplier onboarding and master data management.

Knowledge of repair/RMA processes.

Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis.

Must have the ability to multitask with strong time/priority management skills.

Experience in complex manufacturing environments preferred
