Position Summary

The AI & Automation Specialist supports AMETEK Asia by building and deploying practical AI and workflow automation solutions for Finance, HR, Marketing, and Sales Order Processing. This is a hands-on delivery role focused on execution: gathering requirements, designing and developing solutions in the Microsoft Power Platform (including Copilot Studio and Power Apps), testing with users, deploying, and supporting adoption.

The role partners closely with functional stakeholders across Europe to improve cycle time, quality, compliance, and employee experience in back-office processes while ensuring alignment with data privacy, cybersecurity, and enterprise AI governance.

The AI & Automation Specialist reports solid line to the VP AMETEK Asia until an Asian IT Manager on board. .

Key Responsibilities

1) Hands-on Delivery of AI & Automation Use Cases

  • Build and configure automation solutions using Copilot Studio, Power Apps, and (as applicable) Power Automate to streamline back-office workflows.
  • Develop prototypes quickly, iterate with users, and mature solutions into stable, supportable deployments.
  • Create AI-assisted experiences (e.g., knowledge retrieval, guided Q&A, triage/intake bots) where appropriate and approved.

 

2) Requirements & Process Understanding (Europe Stakeholders)

  • Partner with Finance, HR, Marketing, and Order Processing teams across Europe to understand current processes, pain points, and desired outcomes.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, process maps, solution designs, and configuration/build tasks.
  • Maintain clear documentation of requirements, assumptions, and acceptance criteria.

 

3) Testing, Deployment & Hypercare Support

  • Execute functional testing (including UAT support), validate edge cases, and help stakeholders confirm business outcomes.
  • Support deployment activities (release notes, rollout planning, permissions, environment promotion, basic training materials).
  • Provide post-go-live support, triage issues, and implement fixes/enhancements.

 

4) Data, Controls, and Governance Alignment

  • Follow AMETEK policies related to information security, privacy, AI governance, and records retention.
  • Ensure solutions use appropriate access controls, auditability, and documentation.
  • Raise risks early (e.g., sensitive data exposure, unsupported connectors, model limitations, control gaps).

 

Success Metrics (Examples)

  • Number of automation/AI use cases delivered to production per quarter (quality-adjusted).
  • Adoption metrics (active users, completion rates, reduction in manual steps).
  • Reduction in processing errors/rework (e.g., order entry corrections, invoice exceptions).
  • Compliance outcomes (controls evidenced, audit-ready documentation, governance adherence)

 

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate with MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Information Systems, or similar
  • Foundational understanding of:
  • Software/application development concepts (APIs, data structures, versioning basics)
  • Data handling (data quality, access control concepts, confidentiality)
  • Automation concepts (workflow steps, triggers/actions, exception handling)
