Position Summary:

The Project Certification Engineer will coordinate and exercise planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following essential duties, responsibilities and position requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibiltities:

 

The core duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Expert in taking aircraft fire suppressant and FAA-PMA programs from concept to manufacturing. Responsible for successful project certification efforts. Shall provide technical support on FAA-PMA programs, guidance and direction to issues arising from matters related to engineering, manufacturing, production and quality assurance. Coordinate FAA activities with local FAA ACO Branch. Coordinates FAA-PMA activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Sets up certification scopes for projects and prepare FAA, EASA submittal packages.
    Oversees certification plan, compliance matrix and conformity plans and implementation. Stays informed of developments and changes in certification requirements.
  • Responsible for successful project certification efforts.Ensure excellent coordination with other groups on certification status and any needed support.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Provides feedback and mentorship to less experienced certification group members
  • Ensures excellent coordination with other certification groups.
  • Follows company policy and maintains appropriate documentation for process, unit, and company reports.
  • Maintains and grows regulatory knowledge. Remains cognizant of industry regulatory means and methods.
  • Perform System Safety Assessment (SSA) and risk management.
  • Responsible for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with company personnel and management.
  • Provide support to related departments as required.
  • Produce 2D CAD & 3D model/layout drawings using Autodesk Inventor as necessary.
  • Perform drawing checks and update drawings for revised submittals as necessary.
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

 

Education:

  • Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree or higher from four-year college and/or university in the field of Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Related work experience shall be a minimum of 5 years.

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experiences in aircraft product development and certification functions, procedures, standards and methods.
  • FAA, EASA Training and/or Seminars.

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $105,000
Salary Maximum:  $140,000
