Job Description: 

Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to manage manufacturing redline updates of drawings and for the review and disposition of non-conforming products, components, materials, and assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    This position serves as a liaison between the engineering department and operations and will be the first contact within the engineering department for manufacturing questions and suggestions.
•    Other duties may include feasibility and safety testing, research and development, oversight of operations to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and standards, and team leadership.
•    Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and assembly systems.
•    Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing/assembly systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
•    Analyze, plan and improve work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum manufacturing efficiency.
•    Develop innovative solutions that benefit production efficiency, quality output and reduces production cost.
•    Perform process analyses (sequence and content of assembly steps, time studies, material flow analysis) and develop assembly line concepts.
•    Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
•    Implement and support Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) activities

Education:

B.S. degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field OR a minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing supervision and/or quality control.

Experience:

   0 to 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:

•      General written and oral communications skills

•      Expert user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) applications.
•      Thorough knowledge of mechanical design and engineering techniques and ability to apply accepted engineering standards to custom projects.
•      Must be very knowledgeable in assembly sequences and methodologies for manual (hands-on) assembly systems.
•      Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•      Experience in preparing project documentation, including work instructions, test procedures, technical writeups, etc.
•     Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with engineering team members and customers.
•     Demonstrated success in team leadership.
•     Proven creative ability and solid work.

•     This job requires a high aptitude for mechanical equipment and tooling design for the improvement of existing manufacturing processes. Pneumatic and hydraulic systems knowledge is a plus.
•     Candidate must be exceptional at “hands-on” working environment, where he/she is not afraid to get their hands dirty.
•     Preparing all associated project assembly drawings, schematics, conceptual layouts, presentations and any technical documentation required.
•     Assist manufacturing management with duties as assigned.

Solid 3D CAD design skills with Autodesk Inventor, but experience with Solidworks or equivalent is acceptable.
 

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $70,000
Salary Maximum:  $120,000
Incentive:  1289
