Job Description: 

We are actively hiring for Division Vice President of Engineering which is the technical leadership position for the Level Measurement Solutions (LMS) Business Unit, at AMETEK, a S&P 500 company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Engineering and Quality teams across all LMS sites. Includes hiring, and retention, and leadership development for technical and Quality Assurance staff.
  • Develops technology strategy and system level architectures associated with the New Product Development Roadmaps.
  • Maintains, manages, and oversees the overall scope, schedule and budget for each engineering project and institutes policies and procedures to drive to on-schedule and on-budget completion.
  • Works closely with product management regarding approaches to address existing as well as emerging market opportunities. Relies on analytically minded, data-driven approaches to complex problems.
  • Promotes AMETEK and associated brands to ensure that market/customer perception is as technical leaders offering excellent products with consistently high quality. 
  • Anticipates market disruptions and foresees growth opportunities.
  • Participates in technical, intellectual and development staff evaluations of target companies for potential acquisition.
  • Encourages, influences, and participates in implementing the intellectual property strategy and expanding the portfolio which includes foreign and domestic patent filings as well as trademark applications.
  • Performs Risk Assessments regarding technical topics and issues. Evaluates vendors, procurement strategies. Constant coordination with Operations regarding new product releases, value engineering and sustainment of existing products.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field with Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with focus on product development of complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems
  • Proven history of leadership of development and sustaining teams within a large organization promoting an inclusive work environment and positive company culture that reflects AMETEK’s core values
  • Strong background in Agile, Lean, and digital engineering practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication, mentoring and coaching skills
  • Fluent in English with multiple languages preferred
  • Working knowledge of electronic and mechanical CAD based development as well as Software and embedded Firmware development
  • Understanding of organization and corporate structures and practices within public companies

Location

Primarily located in Aurora (IL). Also responsible for Engineering and Quality staff in Naugatuck (CT) and Zele, Belgium. The business also have manufacturing in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Dubai, and Shanghai, China.
