Job Description:
AMETEK’s Level Measurement Solutions (LMS) business is seeking a Sr. Manager – Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering to lead the development of advanced electronic and embedded systems for industrial level measurement products. This role is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary engineering team, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of product development initiatives aligned with business goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the electrical and embedded systems engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
- Oversee the design and development of analog and digital electronics, embedded firmware, and system integration for level measurement instruments.
- Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, safety, and regulatory standards across global markets.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering, software, product management, and manufacturing teams to deliver cohesive product solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies, development tools, and engineering processes.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet business objectives.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for issues in development, production, and field environments.
- Interface with suppliers and certification agencies to ensure compliance and quality.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends to guide strategic technical direction.
- Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to support team collaboration, supplier engagement, and product deployment.
- Perform other duties as required to support the success of the LMS business.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electronic and embedded systems design
- 7+ years in a people management role with experience holding teams accountable to complete multiple tasks across a large array of projects on time and on budget.
- Strong expertise in embedded firmware development (e.g., C/C++), microcontroller architectures, and hardware design.
- Experience with industrial instrumentation, sensor technologies, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, HART, CAN, Ethernet).
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as UL, CE, FCC, and hazardous location certifications (e.g., ATEX, IECEx).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
