Position Summary

 

As a Regional Sales Manager at Taylor Hobson, you will lead sales efforts for surface form and finish equipment in the Northeast US and parts of eastern Canada. Your responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and maintaining strong customer relationships. You will monitor and analyze market trends and collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to align on sales goals and objectives. This strategic role demands strong business acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.

Sales Region: ME, VT, NH, NY, MA, CT, PA, DE, RI, MD, VA, WV, and parts of eastern Canada

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Meet/exceed quarterly and annual booking goals.
  • Develop strategic customer accounts and cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Manage customers and the associated pipeline of opportunities in Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Schedule meetings and optimize travel plans based on client engagement and sales potential priority.
  • Reach out to prospective clients to understand new opportunity potential.
  • Follow up with existing clients to check on existing system performance and discover new project opportunities.
  • Educate engineering companies about Taylor Hobson’s technologies and collaborate on specifying the proper solution technologies.
  • Update all clients on product modifications and enhancements.
  • Attend and effectively represent Taylor Hobson at conferences and/or trade shows.
  • Maintain sales forecast via judicious management of sales tracking and client management software.
  • Support financial reporting including forecasting, budgets, and quarterly reporting requirements; provide regular communication on key programs in pursuit portfolio.
  • Collaborate internally with technical services, estimating, project engineering, and production departments to ensure appropriate proposal strategy and successful execution of a project upon award.

 

Requirements for Consideration

 

  • Proven experience in presenting technical data and concepts to end users and engineering companies.
  • Previous experience working with contracts and negotiations.
  • Highly collaborative individual with outstanding communication and networking skills.
  • Proven team player with demonstrated capabilities in presentation, writing, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Driven and flexible individual who wants to learn and grow professionally.
  • Hands-on individual with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in the fabrication and metrology of precision optical components is highly desirable

 

Experience/Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, or a combination of technical/engineering experience in customer-facing roles.
