Job Summary:

We seek an experienced and results-oriented Director of Sales, Americas, to drive strategic sales and service growth across diverse market sectors. Reporting to the DVP, Global Sales & Marketing, based in the UK, this key leadership role involves managing direct and indirect sales teams, formulating strategies, and achieving double-digit annual growth in line with organizational objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve double-digit growth and surpass GDP-aligned targets.

  • Continuously optimize the go-to-market approach by analyzing market trends and competitive intelligence.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and grow a team of ~20 sales, application, and service engineers; recruit as needed.

  • Manage and enhance relationships with Channel Partners/distributors.

  • Embed CRM systems into team processes for efficiency and visibility.

 Customer & Market Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with key accounts in optics, aerospace, and other sectors.

  • Support new product launches by ensuring the team is trained and prepared.

  • Develop and execute regional communications strategies in collaboration with the Marcoms team to generate >>10% annual lead growth.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Maintain forecasting accuracy within 10% on a monthly and annual basis.

  • Oversee pricing and discount strategies to balance growth and profitability.

  • Manage local demonstration and service facilities for operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10–15 years of industrial B2B sales and service experience.

  • Leadership experience managing teams of 5–10+ members.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field; MBA preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading direct sales teams and supporting distribution channels.

  • Expertise in selling high-value, complex capital goods, with familiarity in metrology or similar fields.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage C-level executives.

  • Collaborative leadership style focused on team development and motivation.
