We are currently seeking a detail oriented, team player to join our team as a Product Manager in Aurora, IL.
Your Impact
As a Product Manager you will optimize and drive growth in our business through successfully developing and managing the comprehensive strategies and plans for the product line.
As an effective planner, you will manage and oversee the short-term and long-term strategic objectives and business plans for the designated products. You will use your passion for communication and team building across our global facilities to ensure that the organization reaches our metrics around sales volume targets, market penetration, price realization, profitability, and overall product quality.
Your Key Responsibilities
Strategic
- Maintain current knowledge and expertise of product engineering technologies, new product designs, competitor capabilities and practices, market conditions, and market channels in order to develop short-term and long-term product design, necessary manufacturing applications, and marketing and sales strategies for the company.
Product
- Direct and oversee new product development and introduction into the market in addition to product engineering functions to support the manufacturing processes of the company, the coordination of professional engineering design services to interpret customer specifications for products for necessary manufacturing applications; coordinate product line marketing services and sales, including participation in customer negotiations, customer order engineering, drafting, customer service, and invoicing (as required).
- Communicates regularly with customers and representatives on all levels in a multitude of organizations that will ensure the exchange of information relating to product characteristics, quality, delivery, and service.
- Provide training, instruction, and guidance to employees to ensure their knowledge of consistent product line engineering, marketing, or sales skills.
Support
- Makes technical and sales visits to technical groups at various customers, potential customers, trade shows and other organizations.
- Supports the sales organization on larger opportunities to optimize win rate and profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering preferred with Marketing, Business, Industrial Distribution or related field.
- Three to five years related experience in Marketing, Sales or Product Line Management
- Experience in process control instrumentation preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills; including advanced user of Excel
- Prior experience with technical writing including product manuals, customer materials, and white papers for publication
- Demonstrated ability in creative thinking and problem solving skills
- Travel up to 30%
