Job Description: 

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team and play a key role in assembling our level and flow control products. In this position, you will follow job specifications, identify nonconforming conditions, and collaborate with the Team Lead and/or Supervisor to address any issues. You will also contribute to identifying and reducing waste in the workflow to improve overall efficiency.

 

The Mechanical Assembler I will:

  • Execute standard work with support from others on complex tasks.
  • Operate and inspect Value Stream workstation output.
  • Operate and inspect all tools and equipment necessary to execute standard work.
  • Test and calibrate simple assemblies according to specifications.
  • Execute standard work with an acceptable degree of quality and limited quality discrepancies, showing a trend of improvement.
  • Execute standard work efficiently on simple tasks with support from others on complex tasks.
  • Identify problems in execution of standard work and request help from others on resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Mechanical Assembler I Position Requirements:

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50lbs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or sketches.
  • Able to use material handling equipment to safely move heavy and lengthy parts.
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable working with power tools and hand tools.
  • Ability to learn and perform various tasks-assembly, testing, painting and blasting.
  • Some duties require walking, standing, bending, or climbing for extended periods.
  • 6 months assembly experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Basic computer literacy using Microsoft Windows.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use basic measurement equipment (ruler, scale, calipers, tape measure).

Salary Range and Benefits:

Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition, AMETEK provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee assistance program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
