Job Description: 

The Software Engineering Intern will experience software development with object-oriented programming languages like C#, Java, Python, etc. The Software Development intern will work on a selection of projects, while based in Telguard’s Atlanta based headquarters. This is a 3-month internship that is specifically designed/geared towards applicants who should be studying towards a relevant degree in Engineering or Software Development.

 

Role Description

 

Our Software Engineers are responsible for the design, development, and test of a range of back-office, web, desktop, and mobile applications.  These back-office applications support the alarm message processing of our Telguard alarm communicators.  The portal and desktop applications support our customers, tech support, and customer service teams.

Most of our code is developed in C# with MS SQL Server database.  The software team’s work involves developing, testing, and supporting a wide range of applications that are used by our internal and external customers.  This software supports the Telguard cellular alarm communicators that receive and retransmit alarms events from security and fire alarm systems.  As part of their daily work, our interns will interact with groups outside of the software team, such as Product Managers, other engineering disciplines, the tech support, and the customer service teams.  The three-month internship will allow you to discover what we do and how we do it, and for us to learn from and about you.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with IDE development tools: Visual Studio Professional, Visual Studio Core, SQL Management Studio, etc.
  • Develop applications using the latest object-oriented programming languages: C#, Java, Python, Objective-C, C++
  • Develop APIs for external partners that will create and/or consume JSON or XML
  • Work with the QA team on: test procedure execution, automated test procedure creation, expansion on automated testing capabilities.

Employee Type:  Hourly
Salary Minimum:  $40,000
Salary Maximum:  $45,000
