Job Title:  Firmware Engineer Intern

Are you interested in gaining real-world experience in Firmware Engineering? We implement most of our code using C targeted at our RTOS Telguard devices.  In the firmware team, our work involves developing cellular alarm communicators that receive and retransmit alarms events from security and fire alarm systems.  As a Firmware Engineer Intern, you will interact with groups outside of software, such as Product Managers, other engineering disciplines, tech support, and the customer service teams. This internship will allow you to discover what we do and how we do it, and for us to learn from and about you.  This internship is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is an onsite position.

What You'll Do:

• Work with build tools: build processes (IDE and command line compilations)
• Learn Interprocess communications: SPI, UART, TCP/IP.
• RTOS and OS concepts, process threading with communication and synchronization.
• Work with the team on the following tasks: code reduction tasks, next generation research, SDK evaluation.
• Work with the QA team on: test procedure execution, automated test procedure creation, expansion on automated testing capabilities.

Do You Have?..

• Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate 4-year degree program in Engineering or related degree
• Standing junior or senior
• Strong decision making, judgment and analytical ability.
• Good interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with software programs like Word or Excel.
