Job Title: Engineering Intern

Telular is seeking a General Engineering Intern to support engineering activities across product development, sustaining engineering, test, documentation, and operational improvement efforts. This onsite internship in Atlanta provides hands-on exposure to electro-mechanical products, engineering lab practices, cross-functional problem solving, and product lifecycle support. The intern will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to contribute to practical engineering tasks while developing technical skills, professional communication, and an understanding of how engineering supports business objectives, product quality, and customer needs. Candidates must be able to work onsite in the Atlanta office. Relocation is not available. Internship duration is from January 2027 to June 2027.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Support engineering projects involving new product development, sustaining engineering, product testing, documentation updates, and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist with building, modifying, and evaluating prototypes, test fixtures, samples, and engineering lab setups under engineering supervision.
- Perform basic data collection, measurement, inspection, troubleshooting, and test execution using standard lab tools, equipment, and documented procedures.
- Document test results, observations, design notes, meeting actions, and engineering findings in a clear, organized, and traceable manner.
- Assist with engineering change support, bill of material reviews, drawing updates, supplier or component research, and product documentation as assigned.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, test, operations, quality, product management, and supply chain team members to support project deliverables.
- Participate in design reviews, problem-solving discussions, root cause investigations, and project update meetings as appropriate for assigned work.
- Follow established safety practices, lab procedures, quality expectations, and company policies while working in engineering and operational environments.

- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.
- The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related technical field, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, systems engineering, or engineering technology.
- Completion of foundational engineering coursework with interest in product design, testing, manufacturing, embedded products, or electro-mechanical systems.
- Basic familiarity with engineering tools, lab equipment, CAD, schematics, data analysis, technical documentation, or programming is preferred but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organizational ability, and willingness to ask questions and learn from feedback.
- Able to communicate clearly with engineering and cross-functional team members in both written and verbal formats.
Able to work onsite in Atlanta (Cumberland) and safely perform hands-on engineering support activities in an office, lab, and product evaluation environment.
